Austin Kieff had an interesting week last week. He had not been himself for several days. On Wednesday, he came home from daycare with a rash covering most of his body. He had been complaining of his throat hurting, but with the sinuses he inherited that is not uncommon. Well with the rash and the high fever, the on-call wanted him seen Thursday morning. So, we had plans to go to the doctor.
We did not have plans to call poison control. While I was putting in a load of laundry, Austin Kieff decided he was try to kill the germs in his throat with spray hand sanitizer. Since he could not press the button to make it spray, he popped the top off and took a drink. No, I am not kidding. I think it was because he saw me use some chloraseptic spray earlier in the week to make my throat feel better.
I cannot praise the Poison Control folks enough. The lady who helped us calmed me down and told me what side-effects to expect. She also called every 30 minutes for a while and then every few hours until about 11:00. Austin Kieff was fine, he now tells everyone that Mommy's poison is sour and he does not like it.
After an eventful Wednesday night, we spent Thursday morning at the doctor and came home with antibiotics and two new stickers. He is doing pretty good now. He went back to daycare on Monday but was home again yesterday. Today, he is going strong! I cannot help but wonder how I will ever handle two!!

More Pics
but this was his favorite present...a shop like Papa's!
One of his favorite things from the weekend in Cullman
was sitting on a huge ditchwitch that was parked in
front of his Granddaddy's building.
More from Christmas morning, the favorite toy
(Austin Kieff and Jacob's) for a time was a plastic
space gun.
Our first fake tree.

He is a true Alabama fan...he thinks Crimson goes with
EVERYTHING!

Baby Update
Baby Caroline will be arriving March 20, 2009, if she does not arrive before! Several friends and family have been wondering what the plans were for this little girl. Of course we are hoping that the 20th is THE DAY, but we will be excited if it is next week :)!
Austin Kieff loves helping move things around in Baby Caroline's room. He also loves telling folks he is going to be a big brother. I just hope the adjustment is smooth. He will have two big changes in a short time. First, his pre-school teacher of almost two years is leaving his school. We are all nervous about transitioning to a new teacher, especially since he is going to have so many changes at home.
David's mom is busy working on the nursery bedding. Think pink and floral. I will post pictures when the nursery is ready. The colors are cream, pink and a light sage green. Mrs. Charlene is super talented and I cannot wait to see the bedding. She is making the window treatment, crib skirt, bumper pad, quilt, boppy cover and changing pad cover! She is also making Baby Caroline a pink gingham diaper bag with a butterfly.
I have dusted off my sewing machine in hopes of making a gown. We will see how that goes...

How long has it been?
Wow, how time flies! I cannot believe that it is already the new year. Austin Kieff and I have just returned from a brief trip to Pensacola. We visited our Nanny and Pa. It was such a nice visit. I will work on uploading photos from the trip and Christmas soon.
Several folks have asked about Mary Margaret. She goes back to the doctor on Friday and they are hoping she is "fully" released from the surgery restrictions at that appointment. We cannot thank you enough for all of the prayers, calls and cards.
We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying a Happy and Blessed New Year! Don't be alarmed if you have not received your Christmas card...expect mail from The Jordan's this week!! Of course, they are in Christmas colors, but will carry well wishes for the New Year. We are so behind schedule. I barely had the cards for our immediate family in the mail before Christmas :).
Leave a comment if you visit...we would love to know you dropped by our little home on the web.
Be prepared for several photo posts, a couple of project posts, baby posts and of course...a few posts complaining about overtime!
Take care,
laura
