I thought it would be fun to "relive" Austin Kieff's first five years by sharing pictures from each of his birthday parties.  Here is the  schedule:

Sunday          One
Monday         Two
Tuesday        Three
Wednesday    Four
Thursday       Pictures of the Birthday Boy!

Me with the  Birthday Boy!
He was sick on his first birthday and, has been sick on every birthday so far!!
We are hoping to break the trend this year...

The first birthday present from mom and dad was a slide/swing combo

The cakes

Zoo themed party in June just would not  have been
complete without a Zoo themed pool!

Thinking about tasting the cake...

It was more fun to play in the icing

Crawling was  still the preferred mode of  movement.
Although, he could  walk.

So many presents for such a little guy!

This Spider Man chair is STILL a favorite.

Austin Kieff and Jacob playing in the pool

He LOVED bats even then...

Daddy enjoyed playing as  much  as  the kids.
(He still does...)

Cullman Visit

We finally had an opportunity to go to Cullman a few weeks ago.  We left excited to be on our way only to have to take a VERY LONG detour.  What should take about 3.5 hours took over 5 hours!!!

We woke up early Saturday morning and Grandmother made the kids' favorite: homemade biscuits and scrambled eggs. Uncle Chris and Hunter joined us for breakfast. We were just missing Uncle Jeremy, Aunt Lindsey, Ella Grace and Major. Caroline looked all over for Major and Ella Grace. We toured the tornado damage before spending a wonderful afternoon at Smith Lake...correction at "Granddaddy's Lake." There was swimming, fishing, baseball and delicious grilled chicken, fried dill pickles and so much more (okay, for everyone other than me the focus was on the fried crappy caught by Chris and Hunter...my understanding is that it was WONDERFUL...I am taking everyone else's word for it!). Sunday we went to Church with Granddaddy and Grandmother and met Chris and Hunter at Casa Fiesta for lunch.  Caroline enjoyed her new favorite dish from Mexican restaurants: hot dog and french fries, ha!  Unfortunately she was a little sick that afternoon.  She had fought a fever since Saturday morning and really did not feel well the rest of the weekend.  David, Austin Kieff, Chris and Hunter went fishing Sunday evening before we left early (make that VERY early) Monday morning.  Here are a few pictures  from the weekend:

I  think she is having a  really good time...
I am not sure that Uncle Chris is enjoying the workout, ha!

The next pictures are of some the damaged areas we "toured" on
Saturday morning.

Graduation

Today was bittersweet, yes I can say that and yes I know it was only graduation from Preschool.  Austin Kieff began his journey at the First United Methodist Church Daycare and Preschool in July of 2006.  I called in the fall of 2005 to place him on the waitlist for the infant room.  In April, we had still not been granted admission.  At the time, we did not know that slots were not granted to newcomers (those who did not already have children in FUMC)  until after current students registered in May.  I am not sure if this is how  the infant class worked, but it was the first week of  June that we found out there was a space for our little one.  We visited Mrs. Mary Lou for the first time when Austin  Kieff was just a few days old.  Mrs. Mary Lou even had Caroline for a few months before she moved up.  I am said to say that we lost Mrs. Mary Lou not too long ago.  She is greatly missed.

FUMC is  full of wonderful people who love  the Lord and children!  We have been lucky to have the best teachers:   Mrs. Mary Lou, Mrs. Khris, Mrs. Amber, Mrs. Tisha and Mrs. Maxine.  The "afternoon" teachers have been great as well: Miss Kristen, Miss Kaylee, Miss Spencer, Miss Angel...even those I fail to mention have  been great.  The support staff are amazing.  Especially,  Mr. Alvin.  He has helped ease the from home to school transition on many of a morning for my  little man.  Mr. Alvin has a very special place in our hearts and we are so glad Caroline will benefit from his presence until she graduates!

Austin Kieff met his first girlfriend (Anna K.) and until this year was lucky enough to have the same classmates. We have missed the girls he started Mrs. Mary Lou's class with. Although, the new additions in the K-4 class have been super sweet and Austin Kieff formed friendships with them quickly.

Here are few pictures from the morning, graduation and the end-of-the-year program:

Tate K. who seems to be her big buddy just as Anna K. was
Austin Kieff's.  We sure did miss Anna K., Hudson and Sydney this year!

Thanks Grandmother  for making the BEAUTIFUL
outfit for Caroline to wear.  Several moms asked me
where we found it!

yes, she is climbing on the alter railing...

Preschool Graduation

This is just a quick post about Austin Kieff's preschool graduation today...I promise to update on all the fun things we have been doing and the big change underway for the Jordan Family (as well as pictures of the GRADUATE!!) this weekend!

It is so hard to believe that almost five years ago we were taking Austin Kieff to his first day of daycare at FUMC...

 We LOVED Mrs. Mary Lou

Now he will graduate this morning and start "big school" in August...I swear,  I only blinked...where did  the time go??!
